I’ll usually talk about how awesome my gear is…and today i want to talk a little about my primary camera, my Canon 50D. I have been shooting exclusively on Canon’s for the last 5 years, I just can’t get a feeling for the color saturation on other brands. I have been using this 50D since February and taken some of the best pictures of my life with it. Some reviewers say that you need good glass to make the best use of the 15Megapixel sensor, and yeah, it likes good lenses.
My first Digital SLR was a Canon 300D, the first model “digital rebel” . I had been shooting pretty much on film for the better part of my life. And i thought digital was great, but it was far from perfect. I used to use a point and shoot Canon Powershot s30. It took great pictures, but was slow and didnt have the greatest sensor. Many low light images were really noisy but day light pictures were some of the clearest and easiest to edit pictures i ever worked with. My opinion Changed about digital photography when i started using the 300D. It was everything thing that i thought a digital camera could not be. Fast, flexible, impressive at any light …it is still the best from Canon’s Digital Rebel line (yeah, i know the 450D shoots 1080i HD video, nostalgia you know…).
For a long time It was my primary camera, and even though it was bigger then my Canon Elan7e, it went with me everywhere (so did the Elan). Even though it was only shooting at a max of 6.3 Megapixels, its images were incredibly detailed and rich(here is a full res sample). And for as many limitations as it had, it was hackable to make it function like it was Canon’s Flagship camera at the time, the 1ds (they shared everything except for pentaprism , body, and software) and it could be hacked to make it perform like a $3000 camera!. All in all, it was easily one of my favorite cameras. It was just cool to hear that shutter flip up and feel the body move like a film camera….very satisfying.
Any way, my 50D very solid. Lots of nice features like live view and a pentaprisim, plus its light years ahead as far as keeping its sensor clean. Overall, its one of the best all around cameras i have ever used, loaded with features appealing to both the pro-user and the new user. If you are interested, I’m always happy to let you have a look!
This is the first time in about four years i have completed a website from top to bottom. So that mean that i can get down to business and start posting dome fun stuff.
so for now, i’ll start by posting some gear!
I have FINALLY finished the coding for the website! it has taken e the better part of the week, but now it is done. I only have to upload the pricing guides tomorrow.
So what this blog is going to cover is different from what alot of other studios are offering. i will post the occasional samples, but a big part of blogging os to provide information, not just sell stuff. so this will provide general gear news and tips as well as the occasional plug
In the mean time, i am going to get to bed, i have to start advertising tomorrow!
